Hello everyone,

Please help me to solve the problem of my HD100. I just bought it and found out the problem after one shooting. There is always a strange pink line/spot on the same position of every frame. I clean the lens and everything, but it still is there. No matter I change DV or HDV mode/ 24P or 60I. Especially when I underexposure the footage, the pink line/spot is more obvious. Please check out the following footage clips, you could clearly see it on the middle right side:

Thanks in advance!
BTW, it is my first post in this forum, and it sure has helped me a lot.

Try this, take the lens off the body and clean the back of the lens and inside the front of the camera - CAREFULLY. If that doesn't work, it might be something inside the lens itself you'll have to send back to the factory to replace.

Wow. That is weird. I can't say what it is, but it sounds like you might need to send it in to be looked at...

Since the mark seems to change size with the iris setting (i.e. depth of field is making it more or less in focus), my guess is that it's something either inside the lens or on the rear lens element.

Thanks, guys. I clean the lens several time very carefully, but the masks is always there. I always thought it was the problem for the cam, but not the lens. I guess I should mail my lens as well then.

I called JVC Factory Service Centers for the help, and then he told me to call Mary in JVC for sending my cam to the Center. However, after I left messages for her several of times since last week, she still hadn't returned any of my calls. I wonder that can I just use Factory Service Request Form from JVC website and send my cam to JVC for repair?

Hi Lau,

Use the Factory Service Request Form and follow the instructions. There is no need to call ahead.
