Did anyone else notice hatt the warner brothers is finally releaseing the original blade runner on dvd (hd-dvd nd bluewray). First their putting out the so calleed "directors cut" which had little i nothing to do with Scott. Then after 4 months their pulling this, and putting out a box et with 4 cus of the film, the original, the "directors", the extended euro, and i think it was the eal cut scott wnted (i'd have tto check). I don't htink any of them have the taxi jumping scene (of course you know what I mean, right?) but anyway, it's about time.

The "directors cut" removed the film noir voice over and changed the ending. I prefer the original.

***********spoiler*************

the ending that shows Deckard and the girl escaping in a flying machine - flying over a wilderness of trees - that shot of the trees was given to Ridley Scott by Stanley Kubrikck - outtakes from "The Shining" opening sequence.

(from "future noir: the making of blade runner" by Paul Sammon)

flying machine? I thought they were just driving, at the time i remember thinking they wee jus driving along the road (casue there's a road in the fly over) (it's just one of the shots from the shinning if i member).

Maybe on another veiwing i'll sseee flyin g, but i think they were driving a car...or such
