I bought two weeks ago my first steadicam, the STJR lite from Tiffen. Having read the instruction book, seen the video how to balance a camera from scratch, I´m still not sure whether I got it right. I chose hole 5, the medium weight platter and the heavy stopper. The camera is "naked" and about 830 grammes.

I know it´s a lot of training necessary, but... is there anybody out there with the same equipment who can confirm my basis settings?

Since I could not get any balance with the "Battery-Weights" - is it right they are used maybe only in connection with the optional monitor? Anybody with an other 800 gramme camera on the STJR?
