James OClaire May 27th, 2006, 12:05 PM Hey, what do I click on to watch your movie? I clicked on the pill but didn't download the .flv file beacuse I didn't know what flv is and therefore probably don't have anything that could play it.. was that the movie? Really cool site though. If you mouse-over the pill and click, a file download option should commence. You'll need a .flv player (flash movie) to watch it. You can get one here: http://www.tekool.net/flash/flv_player/index_en.html Hope that works! p.s. the file is 20Mb. Dennis Murphy May 30th, 2006, 03:09 PM Have changed file to .wmv now - got it down to 10Mb. David Cummings May 30th, 2006, 08:58 PM it was pretty cool. some of the cuts from one "scene" to the next didn't seem to flow even when I tried to put it in the caotic context it looks like you were going for. It could be that I just dont think the handheld shots work too well... I dunno, I could just be a total retard too. I liked it though. I like the TV shot and the shot of that pile of steel and concrete. The time lapse is cool but its soooo easy to do I cant really give it props. Down with Jebus I suppose Cheers! Cool website by the way Cheers for the comments. It is quite disjointed because it is basically a series of experiements to learn to use my camera and editing software that I kind of made into whatever you call whatever it is that I made, and experimented with sound etc. So yeah, it's more disjointed than Princess Dianna after a car accident. Hopefully my next project will be less experimental and more 'planned'. David Cummings May 31st, 2006, 09:41 PM yeah. I almost forgot the whole experimental part. but as far as camera work... handheld shots with dv cams in my opinion are rarely well done unless the point is to make tho shot all jittery and/or home-videolike. The next thing on my list of things to buy or make is a steadycam. Dennis Murphy June 1st, 2006, 03:38 AM The next thing on my list of things to buy or make is a steadycam. Me too. Just made a dolly that runs on tracks. Wanna do a steadycam thingy and buy a fluid head tripod as my standard one is not delivering due to my excessive consumption of coffee or something... still way to jerky for my liking. Denis Danatzko June 2nd, 2006, 07:36 PM Interesting little flick. One observation (maybe specific to me because I'm low- middle aged and my hearing isn't what it used to be), I'd prefer if you lowered the music just a bit and/or upped the voiceover just a bit. Though I have the same problem in theaters...the music often overrides the speech...something that needs to be considered by filmmakers here in the States, what with the aging of our population and all. Overall, I'd say your experiment was a success. Dennis Murphy June 2nd, 2006, 10:47 PM I'd prefer if you lowered the music just a bit and/or upped the voiceover just a bit. Cheers for that. Point noted, Dennis. |
