I am planning on purchasing a Canon XL1S off of Ebay. I would consider myself an extremely careful buyer. I've emailed a couple people with an auction Selling an XL1S for under 2000. When I first saw this I was quick to check it out. When I looked in the Ebay page it had original pictures and wasnt full of manufactur's specs. The weird thing about emailing these people is that EVERY single person with a cheap XL1S on Ebay is from Italy, Romania, other European countries. Do you think this is just one person conning me, or are they just selling them for cheap because it is very easy to get away with crimes since we are both in different continents?
Thanks for reading.

I'd say one should be very wary when purchasing from overseas. You have little to no recourse when your merchandise never arrives.

Ryan,
when dealing with ebay sellers ask yourself this "Do you think this is just one person conning me?" In other words be very careful only deal with legit sellers (and there are plenty) good feedback and lots of it also if possible only do business with credit card-prefer AMEX OR Escrow. It is called Due Diligence or check 'em out real good before spending your money.
Good Luck,
Don

In short, you are *always* in a better position to get a superb value, not to mention complete safety, reliability and peace of mind by purchasing a camera from *only* our DV Info Net Sponsors (who are authorized dealers) at http://www.dvinfo.net/sponsors/
Hope this helps (please continue this conversation at one of the two Ebay threads listed above),
