View Full Version : Most Haunted Tim Goldman May 19th, 2006, 07:51 PM does anyone watch most haunted? and what do they film th night scene with, i know it's a small consumer camera i think. Marvin Emms May 20th, 2006, 02:35 AM I can't say I watch it, or that I know what cameras they use, but I know they do fake a lot of shots. Things like green and additional noise in post to make a sequence look like it was shot with night vision equipment. They don't have many scruples. K. Forman May 20th, 2006, 03:34 AM Most paranormal investigators seem to favor the Hi 8 cameras. I'll assume that Most Haunted does too. Frank Granovski May 20th, 2006, 06:44 AM Storm chasers seem to favour the Hi-8 as well, from what I've read. Must be good in lower light and with decent 400 line playback. I assume some models are favoured more, the ones with a bigger CCD. :-) Robin Davies-Rollinson May 20th, 2006, 06:49 AM Most Haunted use little Sony palmcorders (not sure which model), but they're the upright type, with some sort of built-in light source. It tends to give a hot spot in the centre of the frame if people (never ghosts) get too close. Apart from that, they use shoulder cams - either Digibeta or 570's with PAG lights as well as a few other lamps on stands around the locations. As Martin said, they do indeed take liberties with faking "night vision" on cameras which certainly don't have it ;-) Robin Tim Goldman May 20th, 2006, 08:11 AM Well, the show is entertainment after all. but how can you tell the night shots from the faked shot, is it that the spot light effect isn't in the shot? I memeber mtv had that "Scary" show where people ran through haunted places with the camera infreont of them. Wonder what they used I looked in to a star scope for a dv camera, sheesh lots of $$$ |
