I'm looking for some audio books, i couldn't find much here.. I also couldn't find much on field recording through amazon.com
Most of them were about studios....
Any ideas on solid books that get down and dirty on field recording.. thanks

Good starting points are Jay Rose's two books "Great Sound for Digital Video" and "Audio Post-production for Digital Video."

I like the way Jay Rose writes, too. He has the talent to make technical theory and practise very easy to understand and apply.
Here's a link to his site and book info with a list of reviews. I wrote a critique that is linked at Jays site along with several others. He's a talented guy imho.

A couple folks that hang out on these forums have some training materials
Ty Ford has a book out you might be interested in http://home.comcast.net/%7Etyreeford/AudioBootcamp.html
And Douglas Spotted Eagle has a DVD

Maybe if we ask nice they can offer a coupon code for DVinfo members?
