Mike Tesh May 11th, 2006, 08:00 PM Something tells me we might end up with either one of two things happening. 1. In 3-5 years we end up with players that support multiple disc types and codecs. Kind of like you can buy DVD players now that will play Divx, WMV and CD-R, DVD-RAM, ect. or 2. We will see the world come down to two main competeing formats. And it won't be HD DVD versus BD. Instead perhaps BD versus EVD. China and India are huge markets. If China's low cost EVD spreads it could be the medium from left field that nobody suspected. Pretty much leaving the Western (english speaking) world with BD and the rest of the world with low cost EVD. Just a guess. |
