I'm not sure if this question is in the right section, but anyways..I was messing with my XL1 and captured some footage. I transfered it to my Adobe 6.5 through firewire 1394.

When I go to look at the footage for review, I noticed everytime I zoom in the footage, it gets a little jumpy in the picture...hmm..trying to think how to explain...it looks like the footage is zooming smooth, then I get a little jitter or shake in the picture? Why is this happening?

Is it with the optical zoom or the digital?
Not sure if it makes a difference but it might help someone who knows.

I'm pretty sure it was optical.

How is it jumpy? May be an interlace artifact. What happens if you change field order, or deinterlace?

I have the same problem, Adam, when using Premiere. The actual
footage itself DID NOT have this problem. It seems to be a Premiere
thing on my system. How do I know? Because I opened the
movie in question in Mediaplayer (without Premiere open) and
it played just fine! Also when I play it back on my TV no problems.

Make sure by viewing the footage in Premiere and in Mediaplayer
for example. There might be nothing to worry about!

This also happened to me. I am pretty sure on my computer it had to do with Codec's. I had a DIVX codec and my video was very choppy. As soon as I uninstalled the Codec everything played smoothly.
