View Full Version : check out this crazy camera on ebay Lucas Baumann May 7th, 2006, 09:35 AM http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=ADME:L:LCA:US:31&item=7616183740 Andzei Matsukevits May 7th, 2006, 09:47 AM thats badass Roger Rosales May 7th, 2006, 04:09 PM And people have actually bid on it! I wonder if they took the bidder seriously or if they know it's just a mock up....But, I agree, that's badass Chris Hurd May 7th, 2006, 04:22 PM Oh it'll find plenty of bids even though it's a mock-up. Lots of folks collect that stuff. Reminds me a little of the trade show mock-ups, the "balsa cams." They're pretty expensive to make. I heard a story about Canon losing an XL1 mock-up to theft at a trade show back in 1997. Imagine the surprise of the guy who stole it when he couldn't figure out how to turn it on! They're actually quite life-like. Fooled the thief anyway. Evan C. King May 8th, 2006, 07:40 AM That person has mad skills for being able to make it look so accurate. Dave Pecunies May 26th, 2006, 08:26 PM With the amount of time it must have taken this person to make this camera they could have gotten a job and actually made enough money to buy a real one. K. Forman May 26th, 2006, 08:43 PM I really liked the part, "It might actually work, I haven't had the time to make a tape...". Graham Risdon May 27th, 2006, 12:23 AM He probably can't make a tape because it probably uses memory cards ;-) Mike Tesh May 27th, 2006, 11:46 AM That is really cool. Wish the picture was bigger though. Ervin Farkas June 9th, 2006, 12:09 PM The basic rule of commerce is: everything is for sale for the right price. So why not make crazy things and sell them? As long as there is a buyer (it already has 13 bids as of June 9 @ 2PM Eastern)... business is booming! Besides, it'll look good in some videographers's shop window... Luke Springer June 20th, 2006, 09:09 PM Here are the pictures of the camera on ebay. After 90 days, the auction is deleted, so I figured it would be a good idea to save the pictures for those "old thread readers". Thanks, Luke Ram Ganesh June 24th, 2006, 01:14 AM looks like Barry Green (author of DVX book) is winning....$46 Betsy Moore August 3rd, 2006, 05:34 PM And best of all, it has only eight minutes fewer storage capacity than a real Panasonic HVX! |
