Hi, just signed up to this great board.
I've had the z1 for a few weeks now and upgraded from the Canon GL (XM2 in the UK) which was a great camera as is the Z1.

Can anyone tell me how to get the mic levels constantly on display in either the viewfinder or LCD screen?

Also, is it me or is the Z1 fairly bland in colour saturation?
I'm comparing the Z1 to the Canon and I have to say that the Canon has beautiful colour but the Z1 seems a bit dull.
I'm aware that the colour levels can be pushed in the Z1 but just thought I'd see what others think.
Thanks!

Hi Chris, welcome to the community. ;-)

Can anyone tell me how to get the mic levels constantly on display in either the viewfinder or LCD screen? You have to set one of your audio channels to manual mode for the meters to be displayed otherwise they are not shown (since you are not in control anyway)

Also, is it me or is the Z1 fairly bland in colour saturation?Get familiar with the Picture Profiles (PP1 – PP6). You can tweak the colors any way you want give the Z1 more or less saturation. IMHO, it really doesn’t matter if one camera’s defaults match another camera’s defaults or not. As long as you can get the “look” you’re after, that’s what counts at the end of the day.

Thanks John, I didn't know you were on here. I've been using your Ultimate S 2 in Vegas 6 at work and have to say it's an absolute dream.
I will checkout the Picture Profiles on the Z1 as soon as I get a moment.

Just push the "status check" button on the back of the camera, under the channel auto/manual switches and the levels display in viewfinder/lcd screen - levels display regardless of whether you are in auto or manual audio. Toggle on & off as needed.
