How would SD material shoot on the SDX900 look if I uprezed it to 720P and went to Film (35mm)... Or would it not be worth the hassel.... If not I'll keep with the Varicam for my movie but I'm trying to cut production cost.

On the CML, they have talked about some indie films shot on the SDX900 and output to film... I think the people there agreed that it looked pretty good.
cinematography.net (http://www.cinematography.net) ... you can search that site.
2- I assume you've looked at other options like shooting in winter, or shooting over weekends.

The problem with shooting weekends is SAG.....

SDX900 uprezzed looks FANTASTIC, many, including myself, believe the footage looks much better than native 1/3" CCD HD footage. Search the net for the documentary "Smile" it was shot in HD for the most part but cut in a LOT of SDX footage, even the engineers at the post house had trouble telling the difference. I have seen SDX to 35mm and it looks just as good in most cases as Vari to 35mm

I can't seem to find an uncompressed clip of the documentary..... Everything I come across is extremely compressed.

If I'm not mistaken the German movie The Edukators is also shot on a SDX900, and I saw it in theaters, looked very good.

If that is the case with The Edukators, then I will definately be using the SDX900... It'll save me money and looks good enough to me for a film transfer... almost similar to Varicam footage but not quite there. Is there a way we can find out for sure if this camera used for the filming of this movie?
