Ikegami showed a new 2/3 inch 3chip cmos based HD cam at Nab that recorded directly to HardDisk using the Avid codec. Called the HDN-X10. It support 1080i, 108024p and a few other formats.
If you're and Avid user it's a pretty cool setup. I personally wished they used Cineform so the rest of us could get our hooks into it, but going with the market leader is a wise strategy.
Base priced at 55K US without lense. I didn't ask if it was 4:2:2 or 4:4:4 color output. Cheers for bypassing the need for an expensive tape deck.
