Hi there.
I am trying to get a short HDV film from Final Cut Pro 5 to dvd, using Compressor and DVD Studio Pro. Whenever I do get the film to dvd though, the video appears 'jumpy', as if every other frame has been dropped. The settings are correct in the Compressor settings, and I'm outputting to MPEG-2 format. I've tried both Top First and Bottom First for 'Field Dominance', and both produce the same result.
Anyone have any suggestions?

I wonder, what was the frame rate of your sequence?
Are you trying to burn HD video on SD DVD?
What comressor settings do you use?
If you can write your post process in more details, I am sure some folks will help soon.

I'm compressing from native HDV to MPEG-2, frame-rate 25 (unchangeable) (by the way I'm in the UK and burning a PAL dvd). Have tried field dominance top first and bottom first.
I know that MPEG-2 is the standard for DVD, and that's why I'm puzzled as to why it's coming out looking all jazzy!

Hi Dave, I work with NTSC, but the workflow is not as different.
What camera do you use?
Is the picture looks dizzi on the screen or on the TV?
Do you use Final Cut 5? DVD Studio 4?

I am working with Final Cut Pro 5 and Compressor.
The jumpiness is only on TV, but there is an interlaced look on the computer monitor....
Do I need to run some kind of deinterlacing filter in Final Cut Pro? Would that solve all the problems?
