I have finally finished the video of the russian female group (but they sing in spanish), they are called sweet vodka.

The video was entirely shot on HVR-Z1, using greenscreen. The material was captured using HDV-DV downcovert, because my computer is very slow for HDV. Composites were done with After effects. I hope to hear from you all what do you think of the video, any comments will be welcome.

By the way, this is the first time I do greenscreen composites and growing elements, i hope I've done a good job.

Me encanto el video. Buenisimo! Sigue con eso hermano. Y las simbolas que estaban creciendo se veian tremendo. Estoy tratando de aprender como hacerlo. Si tienes unas palabritas de ayuda mandanmelo por favor. Que Dios te bendiga...

Very nice.... i saw your first video and then the new intro a while back....

I have just bought after effects and hope to draw some inspiration from this video. I have an FX1, so I I can use your work as a benchmark, and hopefully make some good stuff...

Very nice work indeed.

Nice.. Did you shoot 60i, 50i, then deinterlaced in post or filmed in cimeaframe?

Not bad Carlos. Greenscreen can be a bitch.

I have to say, it's not too hard to make a good looking video when you have 3 hot Russian women as props. These stills from a music video shot on a Z1 (we had an FX1 B-cam) demonstrate the point: http://www.younglyfe.com/video_content/

Well, the renders took like 3 three days. I had a lot of problems with the greenscreen and DV noise, but as it was downcoverted, so there was less digital noise.

Las plantas que van creciendo, son de hecho copias de una sola que duré varios días en hacerlas. Hay un tutorial en:

http://www.creativecow.net/cgi-bin/page_wrapper.cgi?forumid=%3CFORUMID%3E&page=/articles/hansen_jaysen/growing/index.html

Ahí te explican como hacerlas, de ahí me inspiré. Saludos Daniel!

Gerald. It was shot in 60i (NTSC) with cineframe 24. I never deinterlaced since it is pulldowned in the camera. When I imported the scenes in after effects, I just interpreted using remove pulldown feature.

Leo. Wow, it's so amazing that things I do can inspire someone, I just can say that I feel so proud. It took me a lot of hours in the computer. Lots of research about finding the best way to shot using CF25, 24 or 30, but finally I can say it is so reconfortating that I did a good job.

Hey Joe, you know, I wish I could learn to light scenes like that, so I'm trying to improve my lighting for future videos. Ill keep you all informed if I can do a better video without greenscreen, cause you can control your back lighting in post. And in real backgrounds, I have not enough experience.

THANK U ALL FOR ALL YOUR FEEDBACK!!!

Carlos,

Your greenscreen footage came out better than my test has. I'm pretty new to all this myself. Especially with lighting but I'm working/figuring things out. I played with this footage I had and this was as good as I could get for now: http://www.feelthisfilms.com/media/test3.mov

I'd really be interested in any tips you've found to make chroma keying easier.

For the YL video we had a decent budget (it was sort of a lucky break) so were able too spend on a professional with a truck load of equipment and an extremely skilled DP who made the HDV footage look fantastic.

I have recently however, been doing a little lighting myself (i.e.: the green screen clip and this short film http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BTgYrTEaa-Q). What has helped me to the most with lighting is looking at magazine ads and photos and then messing around with my light kit and camera until I could acheive the same effects. Also purchasing dimmers (http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=43060) really changed the way I worked with my lights.

Anyway, keep up the good work. I look forward to more stuff from you.
