Working on Avid bringing in HDV footage at DV25 and editing in DV25 what exactly are we loosing? Would you consider this broadcast quality? And since we are unable to send masters to our broadcaster as of yet in true HDV what would be a better situation than DV25 if DV25 is a bad option. Please let me know how much we are taking away from the true HDV signal bringing it in at 25 compaired to 1 to 1. Thanks for the insights

Well, you are obviously chucking away least 60% of your pixels, for a start.

But I assume you are thinking about colorspace and so on? DV25 uses rather lossy compression and a 4:1:1 colorspace. If you captured HD files you could then downrez them in software to SD 4:2:2 with a lossless or near lossless codec. If that was what you were wanting...
