Just got this email from the people who sell magic bullet.

WINDOWS VERSION IS NOW SHIPPING!
The Windows version is exclusively available at Red Giant Software. Place all orders directly with Red Giant Software to ensure fastest delivery. Version 1.1 is cross-platform supporting both Mac and Windows. For all you windows users out there, initial tests have shown the Windows version to be 2 or 3 times faster than the Mac version.

Does magic bullet stand alone or is it a plug in for an existing editing program.

It is a plugin for After Effects. The press release was out a few day ago (Jan 30th 2003) and quoting from The Orphanage (the people who make it) "Windows 2000 and XP users may experience improved render times due to some Intel-specific optimizations in Magic Bullet Suite."

"May experience" is kind of a far cry from the "2 to 3 times faster" that was earlier quoted. In either case I have actually used it and it is a very good product.

I was a beta tester for the Windows version---it still renders slowly but heck, its doing a hell of lot of computations. Anyhow, a good product but not cheap----
