Hi All,
I am looking to create a VCD with the maximum compatiability since it will be a business card VCD to be handed out by a client.

I have tried making a VCD with Toast. It works well on Macs but is very hit and miss with PCs.

I also made a VCD with VCDEasy. It worked on Macs and had a higher success rate with PCs than the Toast VCD but still failed too much to be usuable.

Any suggestions for a 99.9% success rate?

Thanks.

probably you should first use a PC to create a PC compatible product.
It is not sure for 100%, but using a Mac is at least a risk factor.

Amy, when I create SVCD or VCD, I load the AVI into TMPGEnc which has the templates already set for most formats. You can really use any program you feel confortable using to get the MPEG however, I love TMPGEnc and have never had any issues with it.

I then take use VCDEasy and have never had issues on the PC or MAC with playback.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Bill and Giroud. Giroud, I consider using a PC may be better for compatability which is why I used the PC program VCDEasy and just ran it in Virtual PC. Bill I think I'll try TMPGEnc for the MPEG-1 encoding, especially since I have access to a PC for the next couple of days. I came across TMPGEnc a couple of years ago and desperately wish they also made it for the Mac. Guess I'll have to wait for BootCamp to make my life easier (hopefully).
