View Full Version : Dual Layer Superdrive in MacBook Pros? Dave Halliday April 12th, 2006, 07:53 AM Do the MacBook Pro's have a Dual-Layer Superdrive (like the last generation of 15" and 17" Powerbooks)? Chris Luker April 13th, 2006, 10:24 AM It is not a dual layer, and is slower than the ones in the latest Powerbook G4s. They had to use a different drive to wedge it in to the slimmer enclosure. Greg Bellotte April 16th, 2006, 10:07 PM Haven't tried a DL yet, but I'll echo the slow comments. My MacBook writes content to DVD at about 4x I'd guess by the time it takes. But burning the lead-out data takes over 8 minutes! Too bad, I'm likin' most everything else about it...
