What's up? My name is Brandon. I'm 20 and from Chicopee, Massachusetts. I've always had an interest in video equipment and things alike. Never acted on it really and still (in my mind) haven't. I recently bought a Sony DSR-PDX10 to acompany my already had Canon XL-1s.
After drooling over all those home built camera cranes on homebuiltstabilizers.com on Friday night, I decided that Saturday morning I would begin work. I finished the crane on Sunday night.
The crane can be seen here:

Hope to get to know all of you and learn alot!

Yes, The Crane boom itself can pan & tilt. I used a two Pulley & Cable system so the Camera itself can also tilt. I used some aluminum pipe, a few "L" brackets, two four inch diameter Pulleys and Cable connected with a Turnbuckle. The Aluminum pipe I had kicking around the house from an old Solar Pool Cover holder. All other parts were purchased at my local Home Depot. The Crane is very smooth and I can rotate the camera 360 degrees. Total parts tally is about $80.00. The Bogen Manfrotto 3211 Legs I had hanging around also.

Welcome to DVinfo Brandon. Wow - nice job for two days work and $80! :-)
That looks like a PDX-10 on the crane...

Nice job, Brandon. BTW, I have the exact same fountain you have (in the background).
