Can anyone suggest a good and reasonably priced tripod for the HVX 200. I have been working with a 30 lb camera for the past 10 years so a small fairly lightweight camera is new to me.

"Reasonably priced" is a highly relative term. The $500 price point is considered the low end of this market. I think you'll find other threads on this topic within this board. Scott Auerbach April 13th, 2006, 10:45 PM Studio Monthly just covered this in depth in February's issue: http://www.studiodaily.com/studiomonthly/features/5997.html They give best bang-for-the-buck to the Cartoni Focus head. Cartoni has a total of 5 or 6 sets of sticks (1- and 2-stage in either aluminum or carbon) that go with the head, plus all the usual accessories. Street price at a decent discount dealer is about $1200-1500, depending on aluminum or carbon. I can't say I'd recommend getting anything much cheaper than that. |
