I've just received my replacement HD100 and this one at the bottom of the cam says made in Thailand.
This is a historic moment as i've never seen a professional body made outside of japan.
I hope this JVC move passes the savings on to the consumers, and wiil soon see a price fall on professional cameras.

I think they have built a new assembly line for the HD100 in Thailand. Didn't Nikon do the same thing for the D70s?

Taiwan or Thailand? They are two very different places, but I think JVC has manufacturing plants in both.

Don't quote me on this but as far as I know, JVC (Victor in Japan) has closed down there Saitama factory due to cost cutting, and that was where they were making pro cameras.
