I have the Sennheiser G2 camera wireless system that I use the lav with. I keep running into an issue where their is interference or what sounds like intermittent humming static that all but ruins anything I record. It happens on my 2 PD170's and the PD150. If anyone has run into this please tell me how you fixed it. I have tinkered around with all of the settings to try and fix the problem to no avail. I always scan the room for available frequencies so I know that is not the problem. I am desperate

It's hard to know for sure but a common source of that sort of interference can be cell phones and Blackberries close by. Even when they're not in active use, a powered-up cell phone "calls home" every few minutes to the let the system know it's alive and where it is for incoming calls. This can show up as a periodic harsh buzz in wireless mics and can even be picked up in unbalanced mic cables or a camera's internal electronics if it's very close. Make sure all cell phones on your set are completely powered off and see if the situation improves.

Are you running the camera on battery power or AC? Try batteries.

Do you have an external monitor hooked up? Via S-Video or Composite?

Try unplugging anything external.

Try new cables if you can.
