Hello guys...I have good news for you!

Today, I have received the HDD recorder DR-HD100. Until now I was just reading the manual, not to do any test -real test. It's surprising to see that this optional recorder for GY-HD1xx cameras knows many hdv formats, including 720p/60fps and 1080i. This is the list (from the operation manual) of the HD recording formats:
720p
- 720p/23.976 fps
- 720p/24 fps
- 720p/25 fps
- 720p/29.97 fps
- 720p/30 fps
- 720p/50 fps
- 720p/59.94 fps
- 720p/60 fps
- 576p/50 fps
- 480p/60fps
1080i
-1080i/23.976 fps
-1080i/24 fps
-1080i/25 fps
-1080i/29.97 fps
-1080i/30 fps
-1080i/50 fps
-1080i/59.94 fps
-1080i/60 fps

When you select the future recording material as HD material, it will be shown an *.m2t file. For the NTSC model, also, quicktime 24p and Avi Type 2 24p.

But the main advantage of this recorder is that you can use it with any dv camera that has an firewire port to record an DV footage. Another advantage is that you can connect 2 hdd: 1 master and 1 slave, in order to have much more space available for recording.

Next week I hope I'll do some tests and present here the conclusions.

Have a nice day!

I have read that when in HDV, you can't make it a quicktime file. That HD and HDV is that m2t extension which FCP won't recognize. But SD you can choose which format you want.

If you can do quicktime in HDV I am totally interested!!

I have PAL model. The PAL model doesn't have quicktime 24p but the NTSC model (US model) has this feature. Also US model has avi type 2 24p

With PAL model if you choose HDV recording, it will only record an *.m2t file...
