Hey,

I have finally put my little short "USELESS" up on my site.

I class it as a first real short film as it involved a crew other than my partner :)

It was shot with the GS400 and the RedRock M2 adapter over 1 day.

You can check it out @ www.robertrobertproductions.com/useless

Hope you enjoy

Robert

nice, some the dialogue towards the end was a bit muddled, like the last time the dad said useless i wanted to hear what he saiD!!! love the fact that you can get such quality from gs400, did you use a pal? frame mode? magic bullet or the likes? what about color grading, good stuff

I'm downloading the hi-bitrate version. 222MB for under 7 minutes of 480x360 video? You need to find better compression, man!

Thanks guys for your feedback..... its good to see ppl are enjoying it....

Mark-> its compressed with sorenson V3 w/ quality @ 65%. I noticed going under 60% and you begin to get noticable degredation. FYI I also compressed a 768*576 @ 100% quality and came out @ 800MB!!

Riley-> yeah the GS400 is a good little camera and still amazes me what you can get out of the bugger.... FYI it was shot in PAL 50i and then in post I de-interlaced & deartifacted with MB. Color grading was a combination of color finesse and MB. Also used twixtor in there to get some slow mo and certain shots.....

Well also just had some good news... It has got into the top 22 finalists for a the NAFA ShowFest Film Festival here in Sydney!! http://www.nafa.net.au/Nafafest_outline.htm

Cheers

Robert

Robert, doesn't seem to work at all with Safari. Clicking a menu does nothing.

Cheers Max.... Glad to hear you enjoyed it. I think the GS400 is an amazing little camera for the money... you can get a comparable image quality to a lot of the bigger cams out there if used properly....

SHOWFEST UPDATE

Well last night was the NAFA Showfest film festival here in Sydney.

Eight films were selected and shown from a heap of entries, and Useless was one of them.

At the end of the evening there was audience voting and I am happy to say that Useless came in 3rd place

The winning film, good as it is, had a budget of 70KAUD!! So compared to my measily $300AUD I am happy.........
