I have a pair of dual 500W worklights (that means 2KW of tungsten in total). We all know their drawbacks: low color temperature (sub-3200K), generating copious amounts of heat, difficult to set up. For my next purchase, I am torn between buying a 650W Arri fresnel plus home-made fluorescent softbox and a complete kit from Rostronics. What would be the wisest way to spend $500? I am not averse to buying used.
