Hi, NLE experts. A good friend of mine needs a recommendation. What would be a good read/write, external CDROM for a DEL P2 laptop? I know dang about this so please help. Thanks!

I think any will do. BUT, if I remember correctly the DELL's
do NOT have an USB 2.0 port yet!!! This means that you
can only read CD's at a quite low speed since USB 1.1 hasn't
got that much bandwidth. I think my fathers burner goes down
to 4x or 2x burning when on USB 1.x. Dell does offer INTERNAL
cd burners and dvd players, as well as a combo CD/DVD reader
with cd burner in it.
