"Three Rookies" The Movie

After 4 weeks of filmming, we are finally finished and into editing.
Three Rookies was filmmed using the Panasonic HVX and the
Canon XL H1. Behind the scenes was filmmed using the ever so popular DVX100a.

Three rookies is about the lives of 3 down on their luck loosers, who by some strange twist of fate, land a job with the Atlanta Police Department. They get mixed up in some crazy dealings with a diamond thief and two petty Crooks (Smitty and O) all the while trying to do what they can to keep their job. It is hillariously funny and you're sure to leave the movie laughing in tears!

Cast:
Greg Nelson (Dwayne Carl)
Eddy Griswald (David Vallin)
Rufus Ferguson (Jevocas Green)
Sgt. Peterson (David Fielder)
Monica (Eyoko Jae)
Rachel (Whitney Banks)
Ty (Rashaan Brown)

Any thoughts from DP or editor as to how the H1 and HVX compare / intercut? Why did you choose to use two different cameras?

Stills look nice. Best of luck with the movie.

We ordered 2 HVX's but only 1 came in. We had to shoot anyway so we
rented the the H1. Both cameras look great but the H1 was hard to get good focus and it was also hard to capture to the editing station. But the outcome, it is hard to tell the difference between the 2. They are both amazing.
