Only thing is that the Z1 doesn't have absolute positions for focus, the ring rotates infinitely. If you turn the camera on and off then I don't think any calibration would still work the next time you power up, or if you keep turning the focus ring after reaching infinity it would also go out of calibration.

Boyd, but why then do all of these real dps' recommend one ? I must have read a dozen prouser reports where they put ffs' on the z. Well , then inside one shoot , you could use it , for example to rack focus inside a scene, for example.Kurth

it amkes pulling focus easier.. you will just have to remark the focus points if you intened on making them. its best used on a 35mm adapter

If you use the Shot Transition feature, you can get perfect focus pulls every time. The only downside is that the transition must be at least 2 seconds long.

yea, the only problem with the shot trans is you can only do it once. And it does look nice for an adapter because you wouldn't need gears for every lens. that's a big savings on top of its' price. Kurth
