What I see is not what I get. I am using Premier Pro. I complete a project within premiere and it looks just fine. It is not until I burn to a DVD that I find all kinds bugs. Flickering movement, clips that I program to motion play and then freeze at the end look just fine in Premiere, but when I watch the finished product on DVD I t amperes to jitter or snap just as it turns to a still. How can I work these bugs out before I burn if Premiere if dose not recognize the problems to begin with?

In your export settings, did you change the field order from lower to upper?

This sounds like it could be one of two problems:

A- Interlace flicker: This happens when you have horizontal, thin 1-pixel lines that have high contrast.
You see this on CRT TVs, but not non-CRT display devices or CRT computer monitors.

The happens because the refresh rate for each field is only ~30hz (30 times a second).

The remove interlace flicker or de-interlace filter will fix this, at the expense of resolution. You can also try slight blur in the vertical direction.

B- Reversed field order: This happens when one field is displayed before the other. So instead of seeing fields 1 2 3 4 5 6, you are seeing 2 1 4 3 6 5.

My guess is that it's probably situation A.

2- To avoid problems like these, monitor your video on a CRT TV or broadcast monitor.

They can be hooked up to your camera/deck, which is hooked up to your computer via firewire. In PPro, there should be external preview settings that control this.
