I've just got an FS4 HDV and I'm trying to use it with a Sony HC1. I've got both the FireStore & the camcorder set to use HDV everywhere - in and out.

I've managed to record some video onto the FS4. I've confirmed this by transferring the file onto a computer & playing it back. However, unless I've misunderstood things, I should be able to play the clip back from the FS4 onto the Sony's panel if everything is set up correctly.

I've put the camcorder into play/edit mode and it is showing HDV IN. I press PLAY on the FS4, and the counter starts running. The Sony, however, just shows a blue screen.

Am I doing anything wrong? Have I misunderstood what is possible?

thats how it is supposed to work. I dont have the HD version though so i am not sure if there is something different. All i do is set the camera to VCR mode and then push play on the FS-4
