Hi,

Have captured mt2 files to my computer. 50i.

When playing these files in VLC player I have a major interlace problem.

I am told that this is normal, and should deinterlace image in the player.

Input through firewire.

I presume the images are 1080x1440. Pal.

Best regards

Mike.

How are you looking at those clips... on a computer monitor, or on an HDTV?

When you say "a major interlace problem," can you specifically describe it for us?

My guess is that he's watching the files on a lower res LCD or fixed panel. Probably 1280x1024 or less.

When VLC letterboxes the 1080i, you get this tearing "interlace" effect that looks like the alternating fields are out of sync to some degree.

Having VLC deinterlace the clips should help some.

Hi,

Thank you for all your replies.

You are correct. I am using two CRT monitors at 1280x1024.

I hace deinterlaced in VLC player and all looks well.

Best regards

Mike.
