I know that it's a very basic question, but what would be the advantage of filming dvcam instead of dv? (planning a sd-pal project, which will require a lot of tapes.)

Alex Horvath March 15th, 2006, 03:08 AM accurate Timecode in conjunction with audio and video. bigger cassettes (3h tapes) tapetransport is faster than minidv. Itīs the reason why minidv tapes can only used with 46min instead of 60min. alex Boyd Ostroff March 15th, 2006, 09:16 AM There won't be any quality difference between DV and DVCAM, but maybe less prone to dropouts. However my Z1 experience is that you get better quality by shooting HDV and downconverting in-camera (i.Link conv) to capture as regular DV. |
