View Full Version : Fast Paced Non-Traditional Edit Glen Elliott March 14th, 2006, 10:45 PM I offer a "Credits Montage" add-on to all packages. This is an example... http://home.comcast.net/~g.elliott3///monikacredits.wmv Daniel Runyon March 14th, 2006, 11:28 PM Looks about like the same ol stuff to me....! John Brickner Jr March 15th, 2006, 01:14 AM I dunno i've never really seen that done before. I really liked that. Of course I dunno how good that would work with a bunch of uptight people. Daniel Runyon March 15th, 2006, 01:18 AM Yeah, he knows I'm kiddin. I've already raved about it with him! Evidently there are plenty of folk loose enough to do that kind of work with judging by the work of David Mathew Bonner...he seems to bring out whatever is supressed within an individual, and Glen seemed to catch a bunch that were primed for it! Glen Elliott March 15th, 2006, 07:57 AM Yeah a montage such as this can only be considered if the group is young hip and fun-loving which incidently defines at least 90% of young couples and their friends. The majority of the wedding video is serious and dramatic, it's nice to have a contrasting piece to convey the energy and fun of the day. Edward Slonaker March 15th, 2006, 08:18 AM Cool! Looks like the opening to a new reality sitcom, "Friends Getting Married". Nice work. Dan Minor March 15th, 2006, 10:42 AM Glen, What is your trick to getting people to "perform" for your camera instead of shying away from it? Is it beer? Or are you coaxing this madness out of them? Paul Gallagher March 15th, 2006, 10:50 AM It really stes the pace for the start of a super fun wedding day, very hip and modern and would definately suit the more younger couple.....like they are. A fun edit to watch, good job. Michael Plunkett March 15th, 2006, 11:55 AM I offer a "Credits Montage" add-on to all packages. This is an example... http://home.comcast.net/~g.elliott3///monikacredits.wmv Blown away again .... very cool. Mike Cook March 16th, 2006, 09:42 AM Nice.... Damn you Elliot. Dan Shallenberger March 16th, 2006, 01:09 PM ..... (speechless) Very cool! Every time I watch your work, I learn something! Thanks for sharing... Dan Gareth Watkins March 16th, 2006, 01:33 PM Hi Glenn Loved it... never shot a wedding .. never will, although I said that when I worked as a Press photographer and ended up doing a couple of mates wedding's in B&W..... As others have said this looks like really neat title shoot to the real thing.... follow that up with a Sit Com wedding and it would be really cool... Loved the sync of music and video shots... cheers Gareth Patrick Pike March 16th, 2006, 02:35 PM Glen, What is your trick to getting people to "perform" for your camera instead of shying away from it? Is it beer? Or are you coaxing this madness out of them? My thoughts exactly! It is rare for me to get a group to perform like this in front of the camera.. maybe like 1 in 10. Joe Cooke March 16th, 2006, 07:36 PM Very, very cool. Can I mimic your style? Style? Jason Robinson March 17th, 2006, 02:32 AM Do you find that a lot of your clients opt for that sort of credits feature? Or may be I am assuming this is an add-on feature. In any case, I am sure that some weddings just don't have the personalities for that sort of credit style. IS it common? Rare? jason Glen Elliott March 17th, 2006, 07:55 AM Do you find that a lot of your clients opt for that sort of credits feature? Or may be I am assuming this is an add-on feature. In any case, I am sure that some weddings just don't have the personalities for that sort of credit style. IS it common? Rare? jason It is indeed very much an addon. The clients that purchase it: 1) Have seen a previous example of one and...2) By design are the types who's personalities are condusive to it. Michael Plunkett March 17th, 2006, 06:42 PM Since it is a add-on, have you: Shot one because of the personalities were right even if they didn't add it to the original contract and tried to 'sell' it afterwards? and ... did you cancel one because the personalities were "flat or lifeless" while shooting or in production? Jason Robinson March 18th, 2006, 02:17 AM Exactly what my follow up question would be. I would be tempted to shoot it, cut together (edit time of about 3-5 hours?) and then offer it as an add on.... but since I am new to the business that is just what I think, which may not match up with how customers think. jason |
