Will those single chip JVC consumer camcorders function as decks for the hd100?? Might be a good way to keep the tape transport from wearing out too fast.

Paul Pelalas March 17th, 2006, 04:47 AM How about in SD 24p. Tapes shot in DVX'S can be offloaded from other mini dv cams. Constantin Marin March 17th, 2006, 05:37 AM How about in SD 24p. It's like buying a family car for using off-road. Think for the future use of the consumer camcorder- It has a consumer mechanism, with plastics and only plastics which is not so reliable. It's made for consumer purposes. If you want a deck buy a real deck. Here in Romania we have a "word" which translated can be as follows: if you have money stay in front, if you don't have money, stay at your place. Don't undestand me wrong, I'm trying to help you. Paul Pelalas March 17th, 2006, 09:02 PM Unfortunately I fall into the has no money category. I understand what your saying Constantine. The HD1/HD10 cannot display HD100 24p footage, but they can transport it. So if you're using it for capture, and you have a capture program that displays a firewire preview of the footage, then it could work for you. But if you want something that you can use as a deck to preview footage, then it won't work, because they can't display the footage. Only transport it. You'd have to have something attached via the firewire that can interpret and display the 24p signal, because an HD1 or HD10 can't. |
