BH dropped their price again. Looks like they're trying to clear inventory, no? If that's so, then the HC3 must really be a replacement. Or am I wrong?

If that's so, then the HC3 must really be a replacement. Or am I wrong? John McManimie March 13th, 2006, 11:27 AM Last week BestBuy had the HDR-HC1 in stock and listed it for a sale price of $1399.99. This weekend they dropped the price to $1349.99 but it is now backordered. B&H had the HDR-HC1 listed for a price of $1499.95 on Friday (10 March 2006). This weekend B&H dropped the price by $150 to $1349.95 with free shipping. SonyStyle has it listed with a $200 price drop. It sure looks like they are getting rid of stock... Anyway, I made sure to order one yesterday from B&H. The price was finally right. :-) Steve Peralta March 13th, 2006, 02:06 PM Now that the price has dropped on the HC1, you think it is worth the extra $650 for the A1U? DVCAM / XLR? Maybe the price on the A1U will drop also? I wonder what will happen to the rebate after 03/31/06? I think it will be extended, having a price difference of 1150 would be alot. Steve Peralta Stu Holmes March 13th, 2006, 02:59 PM It's now down to $1349 on B&H. Now...... Why EVER would that be? anyone?? Miguel Lombana March 13th, 2006, 03:49 PM It's now down to $1299 on B&H. Now...... Why EVER would that be? anyone?? Sony dropped the cost to push units and clear inventory, they provide a price adjustment to the dealers so there is a new cost on the dealer side, that said, they can drop the price to the end user and still make 5 to 15% profit per box. This is the end of the HC1, they need to make way for the HC3, bottom line. I got mine last week from Norman Camera for 1325 and am very pleased to have it, actually glad that I waited. Miguel John McManimie March 13th, 2006, 05:18 PM It has not dropped to $1299. A Sony demo DCR-HC1000E is at that price. The HC1 is still $1349.95. (But still a great price!) Ah umm, yes, this was my point entirely.. @John - yes sorry you're right it's 1349 and not 1299. my mistake. now edited. thanks. |
