My fiancee and I use a VX2000. For audio we have the following:

A boom mic which attaches to this:

Azden CAM3 Mini Mic Mixer

That's a 3 channel mixer. I should be able to plug the mic I have attached to my shirt into one of those channels. But only Channel 2 on the mixer works. I can plug the boom mic into channel 2 and hear it. But plugging it into 1 or 3 does not work. I don't think anything is wrong with the mixer. Am I doing something wrong?

Basically what we want to do is attach a mic to channel one. Belinda (my fiancee) will wear the mic when she's interviewing. Channel two will be the boom mic. That will be extended above the interviewee's head. But channel 2 is all that works right now and I can't figure out what's wrong.

Tried to find the manual online with no luck. How are you monitoring the output from the mixer? When you put the mic into inputs 1 or 3, are you sure you're listening to the output channel that is being fed by those inputs? Is there a pan control to select which output channel an input is going to?

We monitor with headphones. There is only one input for the headphones. Here's a page on the VX2000 if it helps:

Are you plugging the phones into the camera or does the muxer itself have a headphone out? If you're monitoring on the camera can you monitor from the mixer? If there's no headphone jack on the mixer itself can you plug one into the mixer's output amd narrow down if the problem is at the mixer or going into the camera that way?
