Maybe I have missed something, but is it possible that you can't take one channel from an external source (XLR) and the other from the front mic for wild sound?
I can use an external mic, but I was travelling light and did not bring it with me.
Thanks,
George

Nope, when you enable the XLR's the internal mike is disabled. Unfortunate, but this is the same as the PDX-10, and of course also the same as using a Beachtek box with an FX-1 or VX-2100.

Treu... it is unfortunate...
One way I got around this was.... do about 4 weddings.... thats most of your money back, sell the FX1, and then buy a Z1...
lol.... but then, if you made that much money with an FX1, I doubt you'd buy a Z1 and you'd go straight to a JVC, or a canon.

Actually I was talking about the Z1 (as I assume George was). It cannot record from the built-in mike and the XLR's at the same time.

This is what I use for a second mic... the MK-012... sounds great!
A Schoeps mk copy, but don't buy one at the Guitar Center, they are Chinese fakes. Go to the link below and ask for Ken Heaton. I am not being compensated for this endorsment.
