I know this is a long shot but I was wondering if anybody out there knew of or was offering any summer jobs or internships relating to wildlife videography. I'm a freshman college student at Humboldt State University in northwestern California and have been videotaping wildlife for about 5 years. I'm currently majoring in wildlife management and conservation but my ultimate career goal is natural history video making, so in addition to applying to wildlife biology type jobs, I thought I'd try to find something that more directly correlated toward my goals.

I've been through a couple of sony digital camcorders before getting an XL-1s. I've got over a year of experience with an XL-1s and Canon's EF 100-400 mm lens. I also recently acquired an EF 28-300 mm lens and use a carbon fiber tripod with a manfrotto bogen head. I've done a lot of digital editing on older screenblast software and have more recently been using Sony Vegas 6.0 and DVD Architect 3. I've also done a bit of ambience sound and narration recording with a hi-minidisc recorder. I have experience shooting a variety of animals in the western U.S. with an emphasis on big-game and waterfowl. Anyway, if anybody has any info relating to jobs or internships, feel free to let me know.

Thank you,

Tristan Howard
