I called Cathay Photo today and asked for the price of 46mm 0.5 wide conversion len from Kenko. To my surprise, he mentioned that after discount, the len is selling for SDG$30 odd!

I do realise that Kenko have many lines of lenses and they differ greatly in term of price but even for the Standard series that is super low price!! I started to wonder if they are any good. There is another shop offering 0.38 wide lens for SDG$80 inhouse brand(another words, not known). 0.38 seems to be too wide, I think it will look something like fisheye lens.

One fellow from Australia has a Kenko "fisheye" for his MX300.

Kenko makes 3 grades (3 lines) of adaptors.

I strongly suggest going with a Tiffen wide angle:

1) better glass
2) more wide angle (but not fisheye)
3) extremely well made
4) they make it in the 43mm thread size
5) both Tiffen and Kenko come with filter threads, the Panasonics do not.

The Tiffen will cost more, though.

Beside cost, I am sure Tiffen is excellent but as most of a lot of brand in Singapore. I have tried to look for it but yet to find one Singapore.......

Personally, I like to buy things locally, but I do not hesitate to order stuff from elsewhere, if it's not available locally, or it's a h_ll of a lot cheaper somewhere. The trick is to buy from a reputable dealer.
