Recently I saw mention of someone (in N America I think) who produces an adapter for Nikkor 35mm lenses so you can use them on Canon XL camcorders. I want one that works similar to the Canon EF adapter (ie 7x magnification, though I realise I'll lose some of the electronic information).
Despite searching I can't find anything on them. Can anyone help with a link.

Optex used to supply them (although they have now stopped trading) but some dealers should still have the Optex ones.
There are also a few USA dealers that make similar ones, although be careful, as some produce a plastic moulded one.
I use the higher quality version Nikkor to Canon XL mount made by Les Bosher (which is solid metal - but still cheaper than most other companies) Here is his url:

The one that you want is the XL1 mount shown in the bottom photo here:

If you order from Les, make sure that you let him know that you are using the XL-H1, as there are slight differences in the lens locking pin position between the earlier XL1, XL1s and XL2 mounts.

Many thanks for that Tony. I have emailed Les - he was the man I was after, but whose details I'd lost.
