I am planning on archiving recordings to Broadcast Wave (.BWF). Has anyone used this format?

BWF is just a standard audio file with metadata embedded in the file to indicate
~Title
~Originator/producer
~Reference number/logging number
~Timestamp
~Signal encoding (Mpeg, pcm, etc)

Whether you have a BWF decoder or not doesn't matter; the file will play on most anything, but if you don't have a BWF decoder, then you won't have access to the metadata.

In other words, there is nothing to fear, it's just an audio file. If it's good going in, it'll be good coming out. No audio is modified in the insertion of BWF data
