Is it possible to retain the exact image quality and sound quality that I shot with my Gl2 if I try to play them through a cheaper MiniDv cam. I dont want to use my Gl2 for playback.

Earl Thurston February 18th, 2006, 07:53 PM Be careful, though. You may want to stick to another Canon MiniDV cam. I have the GL1 and its tapes sometimes have problems playing in other brands of MiniDV equipment, like JVC. From what I recall, Canon's DV mechanism was a little off the official specification, so it creates tracking problems. Don't know if that was fixed with later models like the GL2. Alan Craven February 19th, 2006, 02:07 AM I have never had a problem playing tapes from my PAL XM1 or 2 through a Sony DV Walkman. Mathieu Ghekiere February 19th, 2006, 05:18 AM I played tapes from my XL1s through a JVC and a Panasonic, didn't have a problem too. Steve Olds February 19th, 2006, 08:48 AM Canon ZR200 makes a good playback deck for me. Also a nice 2nd camera to use. My wife likes it. |
