That's the rumour (http://www.dphotojournal.com/canon-will-launch-70-products-on-feb-21st/), supposedly from Canon Spain (http://www.canon.es/).
View Full Version : Canon has 70 new products on Feb 21st? Michael Wisniewski February 15th, 2006, 03:39 PM That's the rumour (http://www.dphotojournal.com/canon-will-launch-70-products-on-feb-21st/), supposedly from Canon Spain (http://www.canon.es/). Noah Hayes February 15th, 2006, 09:20 PM Don't know what the other 67 are but the release of the SD600, A530 and A540 are on the 12th of March...I assume these will be announced on the 27th. I guess tey'll finally release they HD replacement for that dinosaur the GL2...30D would be nice... Andrew Khalil February 16th, 2006, 01:12 AM that 3D rumor looks beautiful - I really needed a smaller version of the 1 series and it looks like that's it. I hope it's real. Michael Wisniewski February 16th, 2006, 09:40 AM Aaaargh, I can't substantiate this rumour :-p, but I read somewhere on another site ... or was it my cousin's friend ... Well anyway, Canon's going to announce 11 new camcorders. Michael Wisniewski February 16th, 2006, 09:41 AM Don't get your hopes up though, they're all in the ZR line. Michael Wisniewski February 16th, 2006, 09:42 AM But they will all be HDV. Bob Zimmerman February 16th, 2006, 10:47 AM why feb 21st? You would think its about time for a GL3! Michael Wisniewski February 16th, 2006, 11:37 AM PMA (http://www.pma-show.com/) starts around February 24, followed by NAB (http://www.nabshow.com/) at the end of March. Michael Wisniewski February 16th, 2006, 11:44 AM Looks like there's going to be a replacement for the Canon Powershot G6. It's down to 4 sellers on pricegrabber.com, that's down from 20 sellers about 2 months ago. Perhaps a full frame fixed lens range finder/SRL body people have been speculating about. Interestingly, the GL2 went up to 44 sellers from 34 sellers about 2 weeks ago, don't know what that means though. Bob Zimmerman February 16th, 2006, 12:00 PM How long as the GL2 been out? Chien Huey February 16th, 2006, 03:08 PM http://www.canon.ca/english/1999pressreleases/ccb/250602-GL2.html From this press release, it appears to be around 4 years. I was talking to another shooter today about how Canon has seemingly abandoned the prosumer camcorder space. I was at the XL-H1 launch event and the Canon people kept saying that the H1 was meant to be a broadcast studio camera. That said, I am very much a Canon guy ever since I got my EOS650 years ago. I wish they had a full robust line of video cameras like Panasonic does. Peter Moore February 17th, 2006, 12:02 PM Please be GL H1. Please be GL H1. Please be GL H1. Please be GL H1. Please be GL H1. Andrew Khalil February 21st, 2006, 12:30 PM he said a GL2 replacement "has not been announced" but he never said it won't be. I'm still thinking either this week or NAB.
