Hi. I'm new to the H1 & HD-SDI.
Is there a recommended cable to be used for connections to other equipment and/or monitors to carry the full bandwidth/reject noise, etc?
Can you simply use a good quality shielded RG-59/RG6 BNC-BNC cable, or is there a more specific cable grade? Also - what are the known transmission limitations for length? I understand the H1 only transmits video on the HD-SDI line. I'd also want to consider the best cable for audio transmission as well.
I'm also looking at picking up a Marshall LCD screen for easier tripod monitoring, and hopefully to gain a better sense of critical focus in the field. It has been recommended many times in the forum to use Component input models over Composite/S-Vid inputs (which makes sense). They (and some other manufacturers) also make more expensive models that utilize HD-SDI inputs. I would think that it would be optimal for use with the H1 (especially considering the fixed length of the proprietary H1 component cable) - however, I'd like to know if there's really a dramatic improvement, realizing that a 7" Marshall monitor has a resolution threshold anyway.
Just wanted to see what people thought or if they've seen small field monitoring via HD-SDI.
Thanks,
Shawn
