I've had my sony vx2000 for a month now and I'm having a couple problems with it. I love the camera! It produces some extremely wonderful footage, but I've had two issues appear. When I try to take photos using the memory stick I keep getting an error in the view finder. Don't know why, but maybe someone else has experieneced this same problem. Also, the ND filter that comes with the camera doesn't work anymore. It's stuck or broke in the off position. Has anyone ever had any problems like the one's i've listed above? I'm extremely satisfied with this camera, just want to get the glitches worked out. Well, I hope some body can help me a little if they've experienced or knew somebody whom experience the same problems i'm having. Take care and God bless!

PS. Is it okay to send your camera through Xray at the airport? I'm going on military leave, but don't want to damage my camera if I carry it throughout flight. Thank you!

Unfortunately don't know much about the issues you have. What is the exact error you are getting? And does the switch itself move (just the NDs don't change) or is it completely stuck?

I indeed can help you on the airport issue. I let my camera through X-rays there very often together with all the tapes and everything else in the bag. It does no harm so don't worry.

Have you tried more than one memory-Stick? There might be a flaw in the card, rather than in the camera. Is the Memory-Stick full? Does it play Memory-Stick pictures that were previously recorded? There might be a clue to the problem in the answers to these questions.

Yeah...I've tried 3 different memory sticks, which two of them were brand new. I'm going to have it looked at to make sure that it isn't an internal problem. When I the memory stick a message flashes across the screen letting me know that there was an error with memory stick. Well, if someone has had a problem like this before, please let me know what you did to fix this problem.

David,

Have you formatted the memory stick?
