For the time being I am probably going to just shoot in SD but I was curious if the HVX200 in SD actually produces better picture than the DVX100B. It is worth it to step up the to the HVX200.

Alright, I have looked all over these forums and unless I'm not using the right keywords, I cannot seem to find anything comparing the quality of the lenses and determining whether or not the camera produces a better picture, even if it's just going to be used for SD.

Yes, the HVX200 has a much sharper image in SD 16:9 anamorphic than the DVX100a. And regarding the the b rev on the DVX100, I don't think it did anything regarding it's res loss in anamorphic 16:9. So shooting SD on the HVX200 is similar to the high res of the Canon XL2, if not sharper.
