View Full Version : MXF/DVCpro50 Conversion WITHOUT Final Cut Pro?

Does anyone know of any tools/applications (besides Final Cut Pro and Avid Express) that will allow me to convert a 720/30p MXF/DVCpro50 video clip (extracted from a P2 card from an HVX200) to other formats such as AVI or MOV? I've yet to find any that actually work.

I also want to edit and work in HiDef using Adobe Premiere, so I don't want the tool to downconvert (unless I ask it to). The Adobe web site says Premiere 2.0 "supports P2 cards with 3rd party support" but Adobe support is unable to tell me who or how (typical). Any specific pointers would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Go to www.dvfilm.com and look into "Raylight"; it's designed to do exactly what you're asking for.

The version of Raylight that supports HVX200 DVCPRO50 and DV, for Windows
editing, was not officially released. But it is now. See http://dvfilm.com/raylight
