High Definition magazine has an interesting article on the amount of chromatic aberration aparent on a range of high end HD lenses. Many Canon users have shown concern over the quality of the XLH1 lens, but before they get too upset they should see this article as the lenses in question are Fujinon and Canon broadcast HD lenses that cost between $30,000 and $90,000. All the lenses tested show large amounts of red and green fringing, very very similar to what I see on my H1. The article concludes that this may possibly not be a lens issue but an HD optical block issue. Apparently the fringing can be seen on a wide range of lenses and cameras from F900's to Vipers and Canon, Fujinon and Zeiss zooms. A Frame grab from these top end lenses can be seen here:

Indeed, thanks for the article.
I've been noticing CA in HighDef Magazine's print articles where some of the frame grabs from higher end cameras exhibit a less severe form of CA than what's found on the 1/3 chip HD/HDV cameras.
Still, many of the frame grabs featured in the magazine are flawless, and look very filmlike without any signs of CA or other optical anomalies.
