Love your stuff. Besides all the technical things, you definitely have an eye for this picture making process.

I was wondering if you know of any similar up-rezzing techniques for interlaced footage. I have a lot of stock nature and wildlife footage shot in 4:3 with a 1/2" Sony DSR-300 that I would like to mix with either HD footage, or more likely, 16:9 DVCAM footage shot with a 2/3" camera. This will then be projected in a theater on about a 25 foot screen. I know this is not ideal but it may be my only option. The footage I have is too difficult and costly to re-shoot.

Chris, the uprezzing technique most definitely doesn't work on interlaced material. I have tried uprezzing my DSR-250 footage and it looks terrible...You might need to de-interlace using a program like DVFilm or Magic Bullet and try uprezzing from there....haven't tried it.

I want to ask a question. did you try dvx200 hd camera, and if so this camera has the same manuel film look properties like 100a ?

I bought canon xl2 and host of accessories last week, and after I watched your film look movies with 100a I feel bad a little :) because I expect to make some manuel film look videos with xl2, any way I ll try and see next week When get the camera..

Steven...your films are carefully created and very moving...Are you using any
lens enhancement like a telephoto lens add on or macro filters? I think what impressed me the most was your use of light and closeupwork which brought the beauty of nature into play without a wide sweep and long vistas shots which the camera could not do without turning all to mush.

steven, those bird shots in the first clip are awesome!! just a couple of comments...

there is some weird blockiness along the right-hand edge of the picture in that clip.

the presentation would have more impact if you could play it back full-screen... unfortunately you'd probably have to up the bitrate, tho... is it h.264?
